The basics
What SDA is, and what the four categories mean.
Specialist Disability Accommodation is housing funded by the NDIS for people who need a home built to a particular standard. It is the building, not the support that happens inside it.
Four design categories
Different homes for different support needs.
Improved Liveability
Housing with improved physical access and features intended to support people with sensory, intellectual or cognitive needs.
Fully Accessible
Housing designed with a high level of physical access for people with significant physical disability.
High Physical Support
Housing with a high level of physical access and provision for people who need significant physical support.
Robust
Housing designed with resilient features and additional safety considerations where they are required.
Life Care Assist builds and manages homes in each category. Current listings show the category for every home.
Do you have SDA funding?
SDA has to be in your NDIS plan.
SDA funding is assessed separately from other supports. If you are not sure whether you have it, or whether you might be eligible, ask us and we will tell you what to look for in your plan.
